Principal's Message

Todd Neace

Dear BCMS School Community Member,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Bath County Middle School for the 2016-2017 school year.  I possess over nineteen years educational experience spanning grades K-12 with the last eight spent in administration.  My most recent administrative experience has been shaped by four years of successful leadership as an Assistant Principal here at BCMS and four years as the alternative school principal here in Bath County.  I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to BCMS and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure every student is a success.  As a resident of Bath County I have a vested interest in the development and achievement of our community and our students.

Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the successful path that has been established at Bath County Middle School by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners.  We will focus on character education initiatives, 21st Century skills, cultivating a safe nurturing environment for children, use of data to drive instruction, consistent implementation of best practice instructional strategies to increase students’ achievement, and providing stimulating and inspiring enrichment opportunities for all students.

I anticipate a most successful year as my team and I support the academic, social, and emotional development of your child here at Bath County Middle School.

During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of BCMS the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be college and career ready citizens with the ability to master the challenges of a 21st Century global economy from a solid foundation created here at our school.  As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to email, stop in, or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!

As a reminder, schedule pick-up and Open House will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Incoming sixth graders will have orientation beginning at 5:00 P.M. and seventh and eighth graders can pick-up class schedules from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 10, 2016.  I look forward to working with you and your child.

Warm regards,

Mr. R. Todd Neace
