Mr. Rawlings is a 1993 graduate of Jessamine County High School. He attended The University of Kentucky, where he obtained a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (2003). In 2012, Mr. Rawlings obtained the degree of Master of Education in Instructional Design from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Robert Rawlings began his teaching career as a para-professional at Anderson County High School in 1994. Upon receiving his teaching degree, Mr. Rawlings began teaching at Moore Haven Junior-Senior High School in Moore Haven, Florida in 2004. Having moved back to Kentucky, Mr. Rawlings served as Band Director at Wayne County Schools from 2006-2011. In 2011, Robert Rawlings joined the faculty at Bath County High School.
Mr. Rawlings has presented music clinics at various Universities as well as at the Kentucky Music Educators Association Conference, and has been an instructor at various Summer Music Camps since 1994. He also has served as a music adjudicator at various music competitions and assessment events. Mr. Rawlings works as a freelance musician, composer, arranger, and drill designer when time permits.
Mr. Rawlings was selected as the KMEA District 8 High School Teacher of the year in 2017-2018, and is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team and the D'Addario Education Collective.
